It has a very clear expression of sweet and ripe fruit, opening on the palate, with notes of spice and earthy aromatic herbs. Keir, a complex wine, is an absolute novelty. It is in fact the first production with vinification and refining in amphora of Tua Rita. Method that is lost in the history of wine culture, as is known, has the strength and the privilege of enhancing the varietal characteristics of the grape. It has a limited production.

Guado al Tasso 2018 is harmonious with excellent balance and pleasantness, it’s most certainly less powerful than the 2017 vintage, but perhaps for this reason is more refined and elegant
Tignanello 2019 is a deep ruby red color. Its nose offers exceptional complexity with notes of red fruits, strawberries and pomegranate that give rise to delicate aromas of apricots and peaches in syrup accompanied by elegant sensations of vanilla, dried flowers, chocolate, and pleasant spicy sensations of nutmeg. Its bouquet is completed by notes of coffee, caramel, and aromatic Mediterranean herbs. A graceful and mouth filling palate presents silky, vibrant tannins and imparts liveliness, sapidity and a lengthy flavor profile. 2014 was one of the most demanding years in memory of, and has allowed us to produce high quality wines that are offering great delight. The late ripening of the grapes allowed the fruit to fully express its liveliness and freshness. What is particularly striking is the high quality of the tannins on the palate: silky, refined, without rough edges. This year represents the heart of the estate, Ornellaia’s ‘Essence’: its natural style, the exceptional quality of its terroir, and the competence of those who work in the vineyards and the cellar.
Spicy and pure, it is full of red berries with Asian spice and white pepper. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with elegance and refinement throughout, approachable and fine tannins, no harsh edges, and a long-lasting floral finish.

The balance and beauty to this is impressive, offering sweet, ripe currants and flowers with some crushed-stone and dry-earth undertones. Full-bodied with soft, polished tannins and a long, creamy-textured finish. It’s polished, yet concentrated.
From an early-ripening vintage, the 2012 Bolgheri Sassicaia shows bold lines and thick color concentration. It does exhibit a classic Sassicaia bouquet, but it does so minus that delicate floral embroidery that comes forth with such delight in 2013. This wine shows a harder, more determined edge. It is less remarkable overall, considering the amazing heights achieved in other vintages. It also reveals thin to medium texture. This Sassicaia roars in terms of bouquet, but offers more of a whimper in terms of mouthfeel. All the elements are there, but they are delivered in a more undertone and one-dimensional manner. It will probably flesh out further with more bottle age, but that leanness is just part of the 2012 vintage.
Solaia delivers impressive concentration and balance in this challenging, rain-soaked vintage. Severe pruning and selection yielded a wine with flavors of black currant and tobacco laced with subtle spice and hints of cedar, a flavor profile dubbed “Bordeaux with an Italian accent” by one member of our tasting panel. Vibrant acidity and a graphite minerality lend a cool, nervy edge that will keep the wine fresh for many years to come.
The Marchesi Antinori 2017 Solaia offers a uniquely floral personality with wild rose and lilac that comes as a surprise, especially if you are expecting the more robust and opulent dark fruit associated with this vintage. To use a word that is popular now, the aromas are absolutely lifted. This is a bouquet-driven wine, showing great oak choices that are synergistic with the light and considerably thinner palate. Dried or pressed flowers cede to cherry, blueberry, some red meat char and a light touch of cinnamon. My impression is that the dry extract from the oak ultimately plays a bigger role in the overall flavor profile, preserving its red fruit core nevertheless. The wine is very accessible in terms of mouthfeel, showing a comparatively thinner and shorter approach. With more time in the glass, it offers some of the white soil dust that is a standard Solaia signature.
Dense aromas of compote of quince and strawberry jam reveal the complexity of Sorì San Lorenzo. It is extremely rich showing red apple and pomegranate, together with notes of fully-ripe strawberry and blackberry. In the mouth, it flows carrying explosive but refined flavours. The entrance is reviving, a persistent feeling touches every part of the mouth, the sip leaves a refreshing and powerful sensation. The tannins are easily detectable but silky. Yet, it shows lingering yellow and gorse flowers on the nose.
Pale straw yellow with a tendency to green, clear and bright. The nose reveals distinct notes of peach, white peach and white flowers, sage and thyme, ending in a touch of hydrocarbons. The palate is fresh and lemony, with pleasant acidity and length.

Widely recognised by critics around the world as the ultimate white Super Tuscan and one of Italy’s greatest white wines, the illustrious Hugh Johnson once described it as “a dream of a white” worth comparing with a Burgundy Grand Cru. The 2020 Batàr, Querciabella’s Chardonnay/ Pinot Blanc white is laced with hints of tangerine oil, jasmine, spice and pear. Light tropical accents appear later adding gorgeous nuance throughout. The move toward high elevation vineyards and picking earlier yields a Batàr endowed with terrific freshness and plenty of style.
Gaia & Rey features a straw yellow colour with greenish hues and shows an elegant and complex nose, characterized by floral notes of wisteria and acacia flowers, fruity hints of green apple, swiftly leading the way for mineral notes of flint and graphite. Wood is well-integrated and never intrusive. On the finish, fresh fruity notes of white peach will surprisingly come back to surface. Thanks to its bright acidity, the wine is pleasant and immediate. Well-structured, it is complemented by a sweet note of honey. On the palate Gaia & Rey is round and well-balanced, with a fresh and citrusy finish.
The flavor is dry, fruity, slightly tannic; it has a good body, resulting harmonic. It can be served with all courses; it goes well with Tuscan appetizers, risotto, pasta with tomato-based sauces, meat, mushrooms, chicken livers; it is excellent with roast beef, pork and white meat, as well as with grilled meat.

This grape takes its name from a peculiarity connected with its berries, which, when mature, release drops of grape juice that falls into the ground. Antillo, whose name means "sunny place", is an honest, vibrant wine. On the nose, the fruit aromas of blackberries, redcurrants and cherries stand out, but also evident are sweet spices, flowers and the odd subtle vegetal note. There is perfect harmony apparent on the palate, with crunchy fruit, freshness and a good tannic structure. Undoubtedly, a genuinely elegant wine.
Certainly Nebbiolo is formidable, with fierce tannins and acidity, but it is also gloriously scented—‘tar and roses’ is the classic description—and has a supple, evocative flavor that lingers on the tongue. Characteristics of the grape: dark berries, dark cherries, black plums, anise, tobacco, cedar, smoke, tar, violets, truffles, black licorice, moss, earth, leather, dried fruits, rosemary, thyme…This Piedmontese versions are predominately dry, elegant red wines that benefit from long bottle aging.
The presence of Sangiovese, which determines its character, gives Le Difese a clear personality, it is a wine partly produced with French grapes that does not renounce its Tuscan backbone. It is well suited with food pairing and invites conviviality.

Beautifully balanced wine from the Lodola Nuova estate located near Valiano.
